CEThe CE mark "gives" a product the freedom of movement over borders between countries in EU. It simplifies the surveillance of the market in EU and tells the user, PPE purchasers and consultants that this product fullfill certain requirements in relation to health and safety by use of the products. European Standards (EN)
The technical specifications in accordance to a PPE products performance are specified in the European Norms, also called EN Standards. A EN is followed by the number of the standard and year of publication e.g.: EN149:2001 EN Standards or European Standards are an important issue for business' dealing with products for consumers, although EN Standards are rather unknown to the general public and media.
Choosing a product that is certified by an EN Standard (depending on the standard) can give you the security that the product will live up to its technical specifications, environmental protection and consumer protection.
